End of Term and Holiday Updates

School’s out for Summer!

Now it is the summer holidays we’d like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to all out families for your continued support over the last 18 months. It has been a challenging time for all, but your vigilance and compliance with the Covid-19 restrictions has meant that unlike many clubs we have not had to close a single ‘bubble’ in either of our clubs.

We would also like to acknowledge the immense hard work and commitment of our fantastic staff over the last 18 months. Without exception everyone has worked tirelessly to provide the safest environment possible for your children with rigorous daily cleaning, PPE use and having sole responsibility for ‘bubbles’ to ensure the children understand the rules etc. By having such a great team we have been able o remain open for the children or key workers and to provide an uninterrupted service to you throughout the year.

We’d should also give a huge amount of credit to your children. whilst their play has been limited at times, they have adapted brilliantly, adhering to social distancing and accepting of the Covid rules. Despite all this their behaviour has been excellent, partly because every day is different at KLU but also thanks to the expectations you set for them at home - it makes our job much more enjoyable!

Track & Trace Whilst restrictions are easing, we all still have a responsibility to try to curb the spread of Covid-19. At Kids Like Us, we are still required to contact anyone who is a close contact with a person who has been at club and tested positive for Covid-19 during these last few days in school. So, whilst we wish you all good health, please remember to contact us in the unfortunate event that you or your child tests positive over the next week (until 30.07.2021). Please email with the subject heading “[Child’s Name] – Positive Result”.

September Plans We are looking forward to September, with restrictions generally being eased, we cannot wait to be able to do more messy play, arts and crafts and have more mixed age activities. That said, we are conscious that the situation and guidance can change quickly so we have decided to wait until the end of the holidays to provide you with the full details of how we plan to operate in the Autumn. Full plans for September, which will dovetail with school arrangements, will follow in the last week of the holidays, including drop off and collection arrangements for both infant and junior children.

Payments You should have received an invoice for the Autumn half term on 8 July, with part payment due immediately and the balance by 27 August. Please get in touch if you have any issues with this.

Goodbyes As happens every year at this time, sadly some of you will not be returning to us in September as your child moves onto the next stage of their education. For some it is the end of an era, for others we may have only known you a short time but either way we are grateful that you chose Kids Like Us for your child and for your support and we wish you and your family well for the future.

Holiday Club If your child is attending holiday club, we are really looking forward to seeing you all in August. We have a great couple of weeks planned – all we need now is the weather to be kind to us! Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for daily themes as well as updates and photos of all the fun.

Office Closed Once school is closed for the summer the Kids Like Us office will also close for a few weeks. Emails will be monitored but we will not be answering the phone, so please email if you need to get in touch.

All that remains is for us to wish you all a very enjoyable summer holiday with your children – please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back in September.
